Number of Ministries- The Cabinet of Bangladesh has a total of 58 Ministries. And this morning there are 352 departments, organizations and institutions under the ministry. Bangladesh currently has a total of 399 government organization. (including directorates, departments, agencies, boards, and authorities).

How many ministers are there in the constitution of Bangladesh – According to the constitution of Bangladesh there is no accurate number of how many ministers would be there in Bangladesh. Bangladesh Constitution 56. (1) .Prime Minister and other ministers, and the state ministers as well as Deputy Ministers shall be appointed by the president as per rule.

In this case, the president can appoint people he likes or 90% of elected members – nine-tenth out of all elected members. From one-tenth anyone can be appointed by the President himself . Purpose: Members of Parliament could be nominated from among such individuals eligible to be elected [Article 56. (1) of the Constitution].

Prime Minister is head and all ministers are under him in Bangladesh.

The Cabinet Department supervises the accounts along with administrative work within various ministries in Bangladesh. Cabinet Division works under prime minister office. while providing guidance and coordination among different ministries and departments”.

  • The Cabinet Secretary is the most senior public officer in Bangladesh. Cabinet Secretary presides over the Cabinet Department. Cabinet Secretary chairs the meetings of Cabinet. Then Cabinet Secretary makes sure the decisions made by Cabinet are implemented.

All other Ministries are controlled by Cabinet Division. Or stated differently it can be said that cabinet department gives necessary guidelines to all other ministries and facilitates in implementing various policy decisions of the government.

The new cabinet of Bangladesh

Number of Ministers and Ministries in the new Cabinet. It is a temporary cabinet formed in a special situation after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government on 5 August 2024.

  • Hence this Cabinet is not called a caretaker/caretaker government. The military announced a provisional government to form this new government. Which is formed as a reflection of public demand.
  • 17 advisors are appointed in this cabinet. This government is called advisory because no government formed on a jury basis has been formed under its mandate.
